The judges would like to thank and congratulate all of the artists who
created an artwork for this show. Climate change is one of the biggest
challenges our modern world faces. It is important for our future, and
its effects are with us now. Adding our voices, sharing our concerns to
address the problem is an important way to educate others and bring
about change, so thank you for stepping up to meet this challenge.
It was wonderful to see how diverse the entries are.
They vary in style, chosen media, and the particular aspect of climate
change each artist chose to depict. When judging the work, we took our
time studying each piece and reading the statements each artist
shared. We considered how clearly each artist visually expressed their
particular chosen aspect of climate change. We also considered
originality, creativity, craftsmanship, evidence of time and care taken,
and presentation. Choosing the best three pieces from each category was
a challenge. We hope you will all continue to create art, using it as a vehicle of self-expression and adding your own voice to all the issues that are important to you.
I drew how the Earth is like now vs back then. Half of it has a city and the air is polluted, but the other half is full of nature and life.
Balance with us and with them, their stem, our feet. Give life to their leaves and breath to their trees.
It shows how the Earth is dying from our chemicals and buildings.
I drew the ice caps melting and a polar bear having to leave its home to global warming and the rising temperatures.
My statement is technically the words that are plastered throughout the whole poster — basically talking about a world that wasn’t affected by climate change. My choice of design helps to remind you why we have to stop climate change. I hope that the stunning animals and plants remind you that the world is beautiful. We don’t want to solve climate change JUST because it will affect our lives and how it’s a hazard for society.
I mean, it’s reached 120 degrees in some parts of California! We, as humans, simply can’t sit with these temperatures, but it’s also a danger to animal life. We don’t appreciate nature and animals enough. We want to solve climate change because we have to protect the wonders on this Earth. I really hope this drawing opens a new thought in your head.”
I drew this art to show how pollution can impact the world.
“I started my artwork by creating a gradient from a green-tinted blue, representing nature and a healthy temperature for the Earth, to a red representing how the Earth is becoming warmer. I added a tree and animals to the green-blue side to show growth and health, while the red side does not feature any wildlife, showing that this could be our future. The woman is Mother Nature, who is facing toward the direction of the tree and animals to guide us toward choosing this future.”
Melting shows what will happen if we continue burning Earth.
I used bright and dull colors to represent the difference in beauty. I used the rose flower to representer presence.”
Why I made this piece of artwork is because I am worried about the ocean and the future. The amount of plastic waste in the ocean is insanely big. And if we actually realize what it is doing to the ocean animals and our planet then maybe we can save all sea life and stop pollution.
This is a picture of Ricketts Glen State Park PA. I love being outside and hope our green spaces are beautiful and clean for our next generation and all the animals that call them home
We have to take care of our Earth or soon we won’t have one. We all need to do our parts to save the Earth.
Climate Change means a lot to me.
We have to do everything to protect it now.
Steam of the Earth.
The indigenous people have respect for nature but everyone else has lost it.
My art … shows that people know that climate change is a problem, but instead of fixing or helping to deal with it, they cover it up, push it away and make it worse.
This is a drawing of the before and after of pollution in an unspecified area. It includes water pollution, plastic items polluting, a factory causing air, water and normal pollution. My feelings on climate change and pollution are that we need to be taking more drastic steps to stop it. We are making progress, but it might not be enough. Species are becoming extinct and endangered due to us.
Fortune teller magic globe, showing Earth’s future through a crystal ball.
“Art is a beautiful way to raise awareness about climate change — and how to help.”
I am representing the Earth on how it should be and how it is because of climate change
The Earth is getting hotter, and soon enough it will be melting like ice cream on a hot summer’s day.
The two darker melting trees resemble how climate change is destroying our world, but the tree in the middle shows the hope we still have to stop climate change.
My art piece is the planet Earth, our home, and I split it in half — the good side and the bad side. The two aides are completely different but on the same planet, giving it its name —Two Worlds, One Planet.
