To date, our organization has been 100% funded by donations from our team. We use this money to operate this website, publicize events, and buy supplies for things like the volunteer fair, the July 4th parade, and spreading the word around town about climate-related issues and programs.
If you want to help Chelmsford reduce its emissions to achieve net-zero by 2050, and you want to help protect Chelmsford’s natural habitat and sequester as much carbon emissions as possible, consider donating a small amount to help CCAT advocate for these efforts.
We are a non-profit organization, but we do not have tax-exempt status yet. We do have a Club account with Northern Bank that has an Employer Identification Number registered with the IRS. To become a 501(c)(3) organization requires a formidable expense and a non-trivial application process. If we get enough in donations that would allow us to apply. In fact, we could use a volunteer to take on the task of applying for tax exempt status and also possibly serve as our treasurer.
When we obtain tax-exmempt status, we will be able to automate the donation process using a service such as PayPal, but in the meantime, you can make a donation by just writing a check payable to “Chelmsford Climate Action Team” and mailing it to:

Thank you!
